PH Ban Alteration - TheUltraFish - 11-28-2024

Hello, I am no the one who was banned. I got bored one day and checked the ban appeals section in the gban section of the forums. Technically, only active admins are supposed to have access to this, either Dink forgot to remove me or knows that I would not do anything harmful/bad. I am writing this for another individual as I am pretty sure no one else has access or does not know to check it. Not really my place to say, but if orb didn't want to have his name "cleaned their old username from the books" they should have thought about that before cheating to win. The setup shown below is how it appears on the Appeals section of the Gbans page.

Ban ID: 9969

Name: orb

Steam ID: STEAM_0:1:166408280

Number of VAC bans: 0

Community ID: 76561198293082289

Profile: https://steamcommunity.com/id/orbtheorb/

Date/Time Banned: 01-05-22 16:41

Reason: Ghosting. Not pog

Banned By: Ryzif

Why should you be unbanned?
hi. this is a super old 1 day ban but it comes up when you search my old username on google. could you please delete this log from the record? or change the "name when banned: cluxhd" to "orb". im impressed at the level of record keeping you guys have, its good stuff. just kinda inconvenient for someone trying to clear their old username from the books.

i must ponder this, placeholder +1 out of obligation so its not a shitpost

Just FYI. This woukd require dink to edit the DB entry manually, not something an admin could do. (Had to do this on TTT fot an individual that apparently used something rrlating to their real name as their username at time of ban.)

Yeah I doubt this guy is checking to see if his ban has been altered too much seeing as how this appeal was put in gbans back in March of this year.

RE: PH Ban Alteration - RussEfarmer - 11-28-2024

bro has gotta clear his name after repenting for his awful crimes (cheating in hide and seek)

RE: PH Ban Alteration - BIIG_SAD - 11-29-2024

out of the loop due to life events,

uh what?

did the dude ghost? if yes, then no, I vote to have it stay on principle.

otherwise, why does brother care? its a 2 year old (ish) 1 day temp ban

/shrug

Can't believe I'm agreeing with Sad, but how bored were you to do an appeal for someone else.
If they cared enough, they'd do it themselves.

Yeah, I was waiting for a game to install/update.

Technically, appealing through gbans (Global bans) has always counted as a legitimate unban request. The issue is that there is no admin for PH to my knowledge so no one would have seen the appeal. The admin panel generally has been used to handout bans by the admins without requiring them to be on the server to administer the ban. If you go through Global bans you should be able to appeal the bans. The person probably found this by googling their steam ID or something similar. Unless there was a ban request, it would not have directed them to the forums but to ban on the gbans page. I figured this was the best course of action unless people want someone, after they resigned, approving or unapproving of ban appeals.

RE: PH Ban Alteration - Ryan - 11-30-2024

I dont disagree with fish pushing this appeal through to the forums. But historically we dont eliminate past bans unless they've been improper or false bans. In that case I dont see any reason to just resolve this appeal as denied.

Fish wasnt doing anything weird here. Just bringing an appeal to the attention to PH managing staff since there isnt anyone that can see the Gbans appeal currently.

I guess thats a difference between PH and TTT, over on TTT we never consider GBans appeals.
