                                                            DR Staff Guidelines

Here we have the DR Staff Guidelines now that we updated the rules Here. I would like you to read and go over these guidelines. The point of these guidelines is to help staff and users learn how to handle different situations and to follow proper protocol to ensure that trolling, spammers, harassers, etc. are properly taken care of. They are also in place to make sure staff do not overstep their bounds and abuse the trust that is given to them by Dinkleberg and the community.

When going through this, you may have to submit a ban request depending on the situation being placed. You can find the DR ban page Here. The correct format for a ban request can be found Here. When submitting a ban request, make sure to have evidence to back up your claims either with screenshots or video. Garry’s Mod has a screenshot function you can find in your steam screenshot library; The key for screenshot varies from user to user so that will be your job to figure out.

For video, which is the best way of gathering convicting evidence, you can find whichever recording service works for you Here. Several users have found OBS and Bandicam seem to work the best for their computers/laptops to get concrete evidence that they need.

                                               Rule Enforcement


Situation 1-

Tap spam: Trap spam is a Death pressing multiple traps when no runner is within range of the trap that is being activated.
 

Procedure:
-verbal/chat Notification
-slap (if able)
-slay (TP kill for trusted)
-kick
-12 hour ban


Situation 2-

Hacking and Exploiting: This is defined as unnaturally tipping the scales in the players favor by downloading or implementing hacks to: see through walls, increase aim, or any number of hacks to achieve the best score unfairly. Exploiting is treated the same, circumventing the natural way the game is played to get ahead either by having a Bhop scrip, getting out the map, getting to places where you can't die, or using a Jump pack.(Jump packs were removed from public purchase due to the exploits they provide, players found with them will have the item removed from their inventory if they refuse to sell the item)

Procedure For Exploiting:
-Verbal/chat warning + Teleport (if not auto slayed)
- Slay
- Slay
-24-hour ban
-7-day ban

Note: If the exploit involves anyone getting guns when they are not supposed to it will result in instant slay.


All Hacking is a Permanent ban.


Signs of Hacking: One way of detecting a hack is, watch a player on how they act whether they're shooting or how they move.

-Watch a player when they are shooting, are they getting kills without aiming? or when they shoot, they lock on to another player then this would be aimbot.


-Going abnormally fast without really bhoping and or gaining speed and not given much effort, means they might have a bhop scrip/hack of sorts.

-Using a recon exploit, this means having access to console commands and are able to use and spam vote/gag/mute ect...that a regular player isn't supposed to have.


Situation 3-

Disrespecting/harassing staff/players- all harassment/disrespect issues should be taken seriously when they are found out about. This includes general harassment/disrespect, targeting, racism, suicide jokes/threats, rape jokes/threats, pedophilia, gender, age, dialect, homophobia, mental/physical capabilities, spamming the private chat of a player, and spamming trade requests (Read Me)

Suicide, rape, pedophilia, mental/physical capabilities

Procedure:
-Chat/Voice Notification
-Round gag/mute
-Map gag/mute
-Kick
-Permanent Ban

Targeting (race, voice, homophobia, gender, age)

Procedure:
-Chat/Voice Notification
-Round gag/mute
-Map gag/mute

-Ban length depending on the situation (3 days minimum)

Trade Request Spam/Constant vape usage

Procedure:
-Verbal/Chat Notification
-Verbal/Chat Notification
-Kick
-Kick
-12 hour ban
-Ban (3 days to 1 month)
 

Disrespect/Harassment Towards Staff

Procedure:
-Verbal/Chat Notification
-Round gag/mute
-Map gag/mute
-Kick
-Ban (3 days minimum to permanent)


Situation 4-

Arguing with staff and punishment evasion: as a staff member, what you say is final when it comes to disputes and issues that can arise on the server. If you do not know how to handle a situation or if there is a gray area, contact an upper staff member to aid you if you are unsure. (Read Me)

Procedure for arguing staff:
-Verbal/Chat notification
-Round gag and/mute if continued
-Map gag and/or mute 
-12-24 hour ban (depending on severity)
-Ban (3 days to 1 Month)

Procedure for punishment evasion:
-Verbal/Chat notification
-Regag and/or remute if punishment evading
-12-24 hour ban (permanent ban if alt account evading)
-Ban (3 days to Permanent)
If player Alt evades, punishment immediately goes to Permanent on all accounts associated with the player. 


Situation 5-

Chat or Mic Spamming
Mic/chat spam is the act of producing irritable or bothersome noises into your mic or spamming the chat. 

Examples:
- Screaming, excessive singing, whistling, humming, excessive loud speaking, pressing x where people can hear your game audio repeatedly, repeatedly telling somebody to do something, playing music into a mic, repeating a word/phrase into the chat box or mic, repeating a word/phrase using !p or @, repeating sexual words/phrases, excessive laughing, excessively doing voice impressions, using a voice changer, and using another language to cheat or say inappropriate things, and using a soundboard. 

Procedure: If a player is being excessively loud, they may be gagged before getting a verbal warning. The warning will then be given upon their gag being put in place.

Situation 6-

Targeting runners and teaming with them: 
Targeting is letting any number of players pass then killing that specific player, purposefully getting yourself killed with the person being targeted
is also not allowed and will get them and the death both punished.

Note: It isn't targeting if you kill more than one person.

Procedure:
-Verbal/chat warning
-Slay
-Kick
-6-hour ban


Situation 7-

Inappropriate Names and/or profile picture- anything involving racism, sexism, suicide, overly sexual phrases, and rape. Names with clickable names/links are also prohibited. Names purposely changed to slander or harass a player are also included here.

Procedure:
-Chat/Verbal Notification
-Kick
-Kick
-24 hour ban


Situation 8-

Advertising is prohibited: links to other game servers, other discords, youtube channels, videos, websites, sexual photos/videos, any form of hacks, or anything else that would require players to go to a website other than the forums or Dinkleberg’s discord

As of 23 June 2021 a temporary zero tolerance policy is being put in place. Anyone posting a link in the DR server (excluding links to our forums or discord) will receive a permanent ban until an investigation can be conducted. This policy is being put into action due to individuals who have knowingly posted links that not only violate our rules, they also violate laws of the United States of America to which the servers are hosted.

Advertising Servers/Videos/Websites

Procedure:
-Chat/Verbal Notification
-Round gag/mute
-Map gag/mute
-24 hour ban
-2 week ban or permanent ban (varies on the situation)

Advertising Hacks

Procedure:
-Verbal/Chat Notification
-Kick
-2 week ban
-Permanent ban

 
- Links to child porn or forcing sexual images is a permanent ban -


Situation 9-

Ghosting:
Ghosting in Deathrun is sharing information to people who are alive while you are dead, no matter the team you are on.

Some examples:
-Saying where the other team is.
-Saying what door is the correct one, even if you went through and died it still counts
-What traps have been activated and not.

Saying which minigame was picked is not considered ghosting.

Situation 10-

Calling a false freerun:
A false freerun is announcing a freerun then activating traps that kill a runner. Once a trap is activated and it has killed someone, you cannot call a freerun. If a runner asks for a trap to be press you can press the trap that they requested. If there are multiple deaths ALL deaths must call out a Freerun in order for it to be considered a Freerun.

Procedure:
-Verbal/chat warning

-24 hour ban


Situation 11-

Delaying Rounds:
Delaying is being the last runner alive and not progressing meaning you are staying at a single trap for too long. 

Instance 1.
If a player is staying at one trap for over a minute, and not going through that's considered delaying which means they will have 30 seconds to pass the trap, 30 seconds to pass the next one, and 30 to pass the one after that one, till you're either dead or you finish the map.

Instance 2.
A player is not picking a minigame or is not killing the death in that minigame. Now it is not delaying if there is more than one runner alive, however using props to block walkways, ladders, doors, etc would also be considered delaying.

Procedure:
-Verbal / Chat warning.
-Verbal / chat Warning + slap (if able, which after the last runner has 30 seconds to pass the trap they're at)
-Slay
-kick
-6-hour ban


Situation 12-

Death Avoid:
This involves going frequently AFK as the death, purposely going into kill zones, leaving the game

Procedure:
-Verbal/ Chat Notification
-Verbal/ Chat Notification
-Kick, (this will force them to have a death round.)
-12 hour ban


Dividing Responsibilities on the Server

If there are multiple staff online, not one staff member or rank should have to handle every responsibility/issue that can pop up on the server.


If there are several of the same rank (for example: trusted on at the same time) they can use the admin chat to discuss how or who is going to handle a situation (Remember: to access the staff chat press @ and then type your message)

Trusted: should handle mic/chat spam, and trap spam

Test Mod: should handle trolling, ghosting, small bans

Moderators: should handle anyone exploiting, trolling/anything beforehand mentioned for bans

Admins: handle harassment, impersonation, trolling, and other server issues

If any rank is missing the highest rank on can handle the issue. Such as Test Mod doing their job and trusted doing theirs. If a higher rank is missing, then the next highest member on at the moment shall handle any other jobs not accounted for. This is not obligatory but can be helpful, so that staff do not overlap each other. Admins have missed things because they are handling something on the forums/server/discord. If it is getting rough with the mic spam other staff are obviously allowed to help the Trusted out.
