since we're still on this topic for some reason i want to say that there are certain ideas that don't deserve to be taken seriously, because to take them seriously creates the impression that they are equal to other ideas. of course there is a lot of room for disagreement in any conversation but when your ideas are fundamentally harmful, you not only do not have the right to a professional and measured response, but treating such ideas as anything more than a fart in the wind is itself harmful. treating misogyny as worthy of consideration implies that it is actually worthy of consideration.
