Rox, being relatively new asked a question because they didnt know for sure what we consider a slur."What constitutes a slur is many times a matter of opinion" Sure, that can definitely be the case. Framing it as "people get offended at the littlest things" as if there isn't any rhyme or reason to why words become slurs reads like someone who won't be objective and will consider situations like being called certain slurs as lesser because the impact they think the slur has as opposed to the person who was called the slur. It reads like they were gonna say "Oh, that's not that bad" if it were something other than one of the more well known slurs.
Which slur and the context surrounding it's usage both play a factor in the moral severity of the offense, which would definitely have an impact on the chances of a warn appeal being accepted. Reading back on the conversation you are referring to, I see that is exactly what Rox was doing, and in the end, said that the warn would be very unlikely to be successfully appealed.
