Alright, in light of recent events that transpired poorly that resulted in a day ban, I propose the following change to the "RDM and leave" rule, or rather an amendment to general cases where players have open reports but wish to leave:
- Players with unresolved report(s) must clearly state their intentions to leave the server with said open report(s) - in doing so, they forfeit the right to contest the decided result but will not be punished for RDM and leave, but rather have slay(s) queued for the next time they log in if the result justifies such actions
Recently, I had left the server with an open ticket as I had other things to do, but was surprised to come back to a ban. Regardless of the disagreements regarding the specifics of the incident, conceptually it's dumb for player to have to "ask" to leave and wait for staff to approve - people have lives and other things more important than waiting for staff to respond- which we all know is not always timely, especially with few staff on during non-peak hours due to the amount of reports normally generated.
This allows the leaving player the convenience of leaving at the cost of being unable to argue with the results, it benefits the staff as well with easy resolution, and it makes a distinction between regulars who simply need to leave and come back later versus minges who wish to RDM, as aforementioned minges are unlikely to know they need to announce their leaving or face a ban.
This also puts a solid "statement of leaving" rule in place - currently some staff and players are under the impression that they can ask permission before leaving, but this is in fact NOT an existing rule and is inconsistent across staff, which can result in confusion and lead to inconsistent results (as it did for me).
Bonus points for putting less pressure on staff to complete some reports when players say they need to leave.
