Whats up it's ya boy, GM Nate AKA one of the most toxic people y'all tolerate, and today id like to talk about the forum echo chamber and the divide between us toxics and y'all sticklers. Now I'm an oldschool Gmod player. Back in my day if you saw a porn spray you'd just be glad it only featured adults. If someone called you a slur, you'd RDM them til they go somewhere else. If you talked shit to staff they'd spam slap you for 0 damage until you flew off the map. If you banned the wrong sweaty kiddo he might DDOS the server down every hour for a week just because there's literally nothing else going on in his life. If you made a forum post you'd be ridiculed endlessly and eventually you'd either have to become staff so you can slap anyone who talks shit, or go somewhere else. Was any of this good? Probably not, but that is because at the core Gmod players are not good people. Now I gotta say there is a very notable divide between the regulars who use the forums and the ones who don't. Earlier today one person submitted evidence of another mass RDMing 3 people. He RDMed two guys who didnt care at all then the third guy shot him for RDMing and also got killed, like a scrub, and the third guy took it to the forums calling it mass. Everyone on the server at the time was relentlessly ridiculing the reporter and I found it funny that someone would be salty enough to go report when they basically attacked a detective and got rekt. I was kind of amazed to see that everyone on the forum post basically felt exactly the opposite of everyone who was in the game. Everyone in the game was talking shit to the reporter, everyone on the forums was agreeing the reportee should get banned. It's pretty evident that the forums are an echochamber of the most sensitive players, and y'all wonder why staff are so disliked. They are out of touch with the majority of players on the server.
What's the solution? You could just keep strong-arming us toxics til we go somewhere else. Alternatively, you could start treating the game like a game and not a job/courtroom/place to regain a sense of control that you've lost IRL. Does that feel like a personal attack? What can I say, I'm toxic....
