4 years ago I worked at a high end retirement facility as the Assistant Director of Maintenance. On occasion I would visit the facility late at night to verify the security systems were operating properly (cameras, alarms, etc.) It was around 2am on a Saturday, my office is on the 3rd floor and at night half the lights are shut off in the hallways to save on energy cost along with preventing excessive light from entering residents rooms from under the door. I am exiting my office on one end of the building and notice on the opposite side of the building at the fork in the hallway is a person standing there looking at me. They're around 70 meters away and in the dim lit hallways so I can't make out who it is, I begin to approach them incase it's one of our residents sleep walking; as I start to get almost close enough to identify who it is they turn down the hallway just out of my view, I walk faster and arrive at the hallway a few seconds later only to find no one is there. None of the doors had been recently closed as they make a distinct click sound upon closing, I checked all the doors in that hallway to make sure they were secure, they were all secure.
Later that day (being Saturday still) I got called into work for a maintenance thing, upon completing the task I decided to play back the camera feed from 2am to see what it caught. There was nothing there. I saw myself moving down the hallway then my steps quickened but nothing else on the cameras. Nobody else was in the hallways that night but me.
This is one of the MANY experiences I had while working at this Facility. Also got the Nickname Dr Sleep from working there.
