Just to elaborate a little bit on a conversation we had recently. There isn’t actually anywhere in the rules that talks about links or what you can/ can’t post. Had there been a set rule that talked about it and the consequences listed, I’d have no problem with a ban. Regardless of this, just use your brain when you play the game.

Since it is not specifically in the rules I think it should not be a perm ban but still a short ban. I change my vote -1 for an unban After re going over it in my head we have little kids who play and it doesnt seem like something we should have in our community I wish you the best of luck either way this goes

It seems there is actually no rule for posting links, but still you did posted a NSFW link.  For that I do believe you should be punished but due to no rule it should not be a perma(unless I missed it and theres actually a rule)

I’m sorry I don’t mean to be rude here at all but we need a literal written rule to know for people not to post porn links? That’s literally a known rule across most gmod servers. I’m also 99 percent sure that’s covered somewhere in terms of services for gmod.

In my opinion, we do. It’s the same as needing a stated rule for racism, homophobia, sexism, harassment, etc. As common sense as it may be, it’s nice to have something to reference back to in the case of bans or appeals. Sadly, people are pretty stupid and I’m pretty sure this won’t be the last time someone posts a porn link in chat. Atleast next time, we can tell them to read the motd. At the end of the day people are stupid so we need these things.

I agree with Reina on a reduction on the basis that it was a generic link, but not a link to a specific video (like when naga sea witch was perma banned for posting a link to chimps having sex). This issue should really be defined in the motd/staff guidelines, which is in progress afaik.
