I believe that I was unfairly banned or banned too long.

I was inquiring about a player named Caribou who has very suspicious bunny hop 'skills' I was wondering if he was using a script. So I was asking about that only to be brushed off and called an 'idiot, loser, etc.' His bhopping acceleration is insane, looks unnatural despite the server having an easier bunny hop.

After my warnings and muting I stopped harassing Caribou and was consulting with staff directly. Upon which I was told I was still harassing and then was banned.

As a new player to the server, Caribou doesn't have the relatability of someone I've played with before, I understand how he may be a trusted regular, but to me he is a random with a new playstyle.


I believe raising concerns over a cheater is a valid response to suspected cheating and that the 1 month ban is a bit harsh for my raised concerns.

I'll start off by saying your ban is not for 1-month, its for 1-day. As for why you were banned, you received a 10-point harassment warn for continuing to accuse a player of cheating in chat after you had been asked to stop by another staff member. I wasn't there for the whole thing but these are the screenshots I took: Pic1 and Pic2. Overall I'm at a -1 for removing the ban/warn.

Icey, I can't tell if you're being sarcastic... You're saying if someone is cheating you aren't allowed to even suspect them, let alone mention it, and if you do you should get a community ban?

Yikes I didn't know Dinkleberg TTT allowed cheating and protected it to such a high degree.

I agree with this. Like I am really hoping Icey is just trolling around here. Because we only community ban for serious offenses, and he should know that, having onky resigned from admin a couple of months ago. 

Calling out cheaters to staff using @ is fine, but berating both the person being accused and staff over it is not

Keep in mind, these screen shots of my responses are after I've been called an idiot, brushed off, someone said I am fat and have "fat fingers" and cant Bhop...?, etc.

Despite people not taking the allegations seriously as well as ridiculing me, I was trying to make light of the situation with humor.

You are 100% always encouraged to bring hacking concerns up with staff using admin chat. You were told that caribou wasn’t hacking, and also told to leave him alone, and you decided to ignore the request. You even went as far as saying you were using a script.

Sit out the ban. You can appeal the warn points later, but it’s -1 from me, for now.

This is the take I was thinking. I was thinking there was some doubling down going on that occurred. Caribou is not the first to be good at bhopping here and nothing I've seen indicates him to be cheating at the game.

I apologize in advance for bringing this thread back to the topic on hand.

You did your due diligence by reporting Caribou's shopping to staff, and they took the action they felt was warranted - none.

You were told to back off but decided to keep whining in game? How is that not disruptive to others?

You could have made a ban request here, instead of yapping in game, to allow a full investigation with clear evidence you obviously have.

Or, you could just accept the fact that bhopping is a Gmod staple and very easy to do in Dinks servers, and get over it.

Or, just get better.

-1 unban since it'll be done anyway, the warn should probably be converted to a few month expiration though.
