What can you do to help the community: I am most frequently online at times when there aren't staff present (my work/school schedule is weird and I keep gremlin hours); I have a pretty good grasp of the rules and how to not escalate things.

Why you want to help the community: The server gets really weird late at night when staff aren't around; creeps start flowing in (either in groups or alone) and start taking the voice/text chat to really heinous places, describing the sexual things they are doing to themselves & harassing players (especially women or anyone perceived as a sex/gender minority), really beyond the pale type stuff, telling them they are going to commit crimes against them, etc (I'm not going to get too explicit here but you know what I mean).  It should also go without saying that along with any of this comes targetted rdm and late night mob type stuff.  Most of the people who play gmod I'm sure are pretty steeled against this sort of thing, but even still, I have seen it drain the vibe/life out of the server and people end up either disconnecting or just getting quiet & somber to avoid coming under fire: even after a staff gets called (if one is around in the discord) and these losers get banned, the server being a toxic mess for 30 minutes or more kind of ends any fun for that night.  No one should have to feel unsafe when they log on to play the "social deduction but with guns" videogame, I am sure plenty of us deal with enough of that type of nonsense in real life.  I have never been one to pursue moderator/staff type roles in online spaces, but I have enjoyed this server for a good while now and I think this is a way I can help out a bit, give the australians & fellow insomniacs a break.

So having first-hand knowledge of a lot of your past ban history (for those older, recall "Semenbeard the Ass Pirate" and "Naga Sea Witch"), my initial reaction was a hell no. However, I recognize that significant time has transpired (~2-3 years) since your more egregious issues.
I am honestly more concerned about recent activity, because I don't recognize seeing your current username in the game. We probably have played together, but I just don't recall you well enough, to vouch if your current level of participation would make you well suited for staff.
I am neutral due to your history, but you make a great case for yourself in this application. Best of luck with your application.
