new year new damien application

First off I want to say that damien does have the potential to be mature and very respectful about most things usually. Now look I know he isnt perfect, hell none of us are, but I have seen positive sides to him and I see he does genuinely care about people. I know he has a bit of a track record staffing here but from what I saw and heard he seemed to be doing fine staffing until.... well you know how the community is. If Damien thinks he can handle staffing again even when shit hits the fan again I say give him a shot.

-1 I known him for years, everytime he gets staff he starts to hate the position and game, Like the guy, hate the staff in him, would love to see him enjoy himself then staff again.
-Uncle that everyone knows and loved...

The Damien Cycle:
-Start Being Active Enough to Apply -Apply, sucking up to the right people -If denied, repeat Steps 1-2. -If accepted, stop putting on the show -Staffs for 3-4 months -Resigns, burning bridges by calling people out in resignation threads -Goes inactive -Lurks on Forums -Cycle Repeats Don't believe me? Look through the 15 apps and numerous resignations for yourself. "As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his foolishness." ~Proverbs 26:11 This quote sums up my thoughts on this application. Also isn't the first time I've made a similar comment: https://www.dinklebergsgmod.com/site/sho...?tid=19657 -1

I'm not singling this reply out btw I was writing this originally for K Stone's post. If your whole basis of -1ing me is because of me having a "Cycle" or history of resigning I am not gonna reply with my same answer to that over and over again. It's a little silly to me because I don't think it matters all that much if the staff member wants to come back and is also willing to repeat the process of coming back through applications. IMO it's much better than going inactive when you don't want to staff but again the community has decided that they would rather me go inactive if I was made staff again so if I am made staff I will just do that instead of resigning if I feel like I don't want to staff/be staff for the community. I didn't really burn any bridges until the April resignation but I'll own up to that, I'm not actively holding any grudges/gripes against anyone and if anyone feels like I need to apologize to them because of what happened/what I said I'm willing to if you wanna reach out. My "Lurking" on the fourms is me just trying to stay active within the community and contribute to discourse while also seeing what's happening (Not in a looking to the see the drama way but like I just wanna know what's going on in the community so I can contribute kinda way).

I'm not singling this reply out btw I was writing this originally for K Stone's post. I don't want to derail this thread, so I'll make this my last comment on here: Your first point: I would agree with you that it would be wild to try and act "I know" your feelings after not interacting with you for a very long time. However, I am not talking about your feelings; I am talking about a pattern of behaviors that I have observed over a nearly 5-year period of being in this community and knowing you through your actions. It would be insane for me to assume how you felt. Your second point: You have a point, but that argument becomes redundant after... whatever round of trusted application/staff run this is. Similarly to the last application you did back in July 2024, I, alongside several others, are just quite tired of seeing you do this same arduous cycle. It is frustrating to observe you make what those of us who "don't support" the app watch you make the same mistake over, and over, and over again. Do you really feel like it's worth it? Or are you simply applying because your friends, Derp and Rand, did? I feel like even this app was you being pressured/influenced by your friends doing the same thing honestly. Your third point: Fair point. I honestly don't try to remember much, and although I could potentially try to go digging and find examples, I really don't think it's appropriate or worth it trying to find it all. We'll just say I'm wrong and move on. Fourth point: Yeah, that's fair; saying you lurk as part of your cycle was a bit rude on my part, so I'll rescind that comment. As long as you understand that these are not personal attacks on you, I am totally fine if you and I disagree on these stances because at the end of the day, it really doesn't matter. I'm just simply voicing my opinion. I will say that while I was looking back at older complaints that I had against you on WAY older applications, you have 100% gotten better at handling criticism compared to how you used to react to it, so I appreciate you demonstrating growth in that. I'm sure that if it's accepted, you'd probably do a good job because you know how to do it.

(01-10-2025, 12:03 AM)chapman Wrote: Your first point:I should've also added that I didn't think you were doing that on my app, some people have used the phrases "continuous cycle/observing a pattern of behavior" to try and dictate what I am doing/feeling, it was a general statement not meant for you so my bad for not formulating my thoughts properly on the topic. Quote:Your second point:Yes I do understand that with my past resignations it can seem like I am just doing it for the bit and it can seem redundant and tiresome but to be honest I don't see it as an issue when we've had multiple staff members resign and come back at least 3+ times. Resigning won't be an issue if I am accepted for staff this time because as I've said before, I will go inactive if I feel like I do not want to staff/be ttt staff. No, I did not apply because Rand and Dero applied, I will admit that them applying and potentially being my staff buddies is a big plus to my mindset about this application but it was not the main goal to apply with them, especially since I was going to apply again anyways with or without them. Quote:As long as you understand that these are not personal attacks on you, I am totally fine if you and I disagree on these stances because at the end of the day, it really doesn't matter. I'm just simply voicing my opinion.I do totally understand, honestly I'm glad that you provided your input in a productive way that allowed for dialogue even if we disagree on two of the major points you presented it's still good to get a discussion going when a matter is opinion based as long as there's no shit flinging/baseless statements.

-1 high crashout risk

I feel like it should be a compliment that they do want to be staff still after the millionth time and while I understand the valid criticism of people being not ok with them reapplying again, I am not of like mind +1
Oh and I feel like they're great. |
