While I agree with Russ that the word pedophile gets thrown around too often and inaccurately, there is something to be said that outside of everyone’s opinions on the matter; any kind of romantic/sexual relationship between someone over 18 and someone under 18 is strictly forbidden on Dinks, even if they may be allowed in one’s state/culture.

While the interaction shared makes me uncomfortable, I don’t feel right about putting labels on anyone based on just the shared screenshots. I’ll save that for the admin team, who it sounds like have spoken to one or both parties involved.

Another day, another pedophile called out.

This comment doesn't sit right with me. The behavior is manipulative and gives groomer vibes, but saying this is pedophilia is a stretch. 16 turning 17y/o and 19y/o are both high school age. Pedophillia is a 28 year old grown man manipulating innocent children and potentially putting them in mortal danger because they're too much of a loser to date another mature adult. This thread shows a hormone ruled teenager manipulating another hormone ruled teenager because they have $700 in the bank from their first part time job at McDonalds. Yes its weird, yes its manipulative and groomy, but no it's not anywhere near pedophilia, this is some dumb shit the teacher would call your mom about.

It's important to make the distinction, because calling any moron a pedo downplays the threat actual pedos pose to children. Actual pedos are monsters and should rot in jail. Stop throwing out life-changing allegations to the stupid teenager who's barely old enough to have a real drivers license trying to play sugar daddy for the high school sophomore. Yeah its weird and creepy, go flame their DMs about it if you want, but if anyone thinks there is an actual case of pedophilia or child endangerment, call the fucking police instead of our fat video game admin council

Sadly, this was a rage bait comment and upon reflection, that's not something I should do so I will apologize for that. It was a tasteless joke about a rampant history of people who have been degenerates throughout the years in this community, and Nazu should not have caught a stray in that manner.


In truthfulness, I felt that this was more of a weird situation (like a senior dating a freshman in high school) rather than something that was actually horrid.

Thanks for your honest feedback, I'll make better efforts not to submit to old temptations in the future.

the admin team should not be the decider for what YOU as an individual consider this. the admin team can decide what ACTION to take in OUR COMMUNITY regarding the individual due to these events, but the admin team should not be labeling anyone anything. they are not a reliable moral compass.

I already said I was uncomfortable with the exchange. I simply dont want to put labels on anyone given the evidence provided to us (the community). You are right, tho. I shouldn't be asking the admin team to be putting labels on anyone either. Their only job is to decide what action is taken in the community.

I waited a bit to reply to this but I'll put my two cents in now. 

First of all, d33rly I am truly sorry that you had to experience something like this once again. We live in a very fucked up and awful world where this shit is common place and it's truly a terrible thing to go through not only once but twice.

Second of all, if the screenshots are found to be sufficient evidence I would like a community ban even if the accused isn't in the community really anymore. Evidence of both grooming and expression of continuously exploiting and even suggesting to put a backdoor into dink's is 100% grounds for a community ban. 

Finally I just wanna talk about the "not a pedophile" because it has never sat right with me even if it is technically correct. Being technically correct isn't the best kind of correct in some cases, it just reads like we need to call them the correct title for their sake when it ultimately doesn't matter for them because we shouldn't have to accommodate for a groomer's feelings. In this case, not all of the evidence is posted and the connection of that account to the accused isn't made (which d33rly could easily prove to the admins and it's not their job to do for a community forum thread), I think that jumping to call the accused a pedo is a little much but considering how many pedophiles the community has dealt with, it makes sense that it happened. 

Regardless I have confidence in the admin team that they will do their due diligence and give this situation a thorough investigation to the best of their ability.
